Exercising at Home

If you don’t have the time or finances to join a gym, no problems! Here are some quick tips to help you get fit at home!


AMRAP stands for As Many Rounds As Possible, so pick 4 exercises and an amount of reps, then do as many rounds of that as possible. Confused yet? Don’t worry let me give you an example. So let’s choose 4 exercises:-

  • Squats
  • Pushups
  • Lunges
  • Sit-ups

Then let’s choose to do 10 reps of each.

So 10 squats, 10 pushups, 10 lunges and 10 sit-ups are equal to ONE round. Set a timer up for 12 minutes (or as long or short as you want) and do as many rounds of that as possible! And there you have it, an AMRAP! Be creative with the exercises you choose, change up the time and the reps and have fun with it! Trust me, you will sweat up a storm doing AMRAPS!

These days we have the privilege of having the internet at our fingertips! Which means exercising at home has never been easier. Youtube is a great way to get active without leaving the house. Just jump onto Youtube and connect it to your smart tv’s. Our favourite here at SLIM MAMA CO is The Fitness Marshall, it’s a dance routine style youtube channel and it’s a lot of fun! But if you aren’t very coordinated when it comes to following dance moves, there are plenty of other channels that provide exercise videos. All you have to do is search! Some search terms to use include

  • “Home Workouts”
  • “No equipment needed workouts”
  • “Bodyweight workouts”
  • “At home fitness routines”

Jump on to youtube and search for yourself, you will be surprised at how much is out there! 


Just like YouTube, there are plenty of apps that provide workouts that you can do at home with minimal equipment. Here is a list of a few we found, but if you go into the app store on your phone you will be able to find plenty!
